Art...

This was a pencil/coloured pencil sketch I made of a female highwayman. After reading

Celia Rees 'Sovay' I fell in love with the idea of female highwaymen. Years and years ago I watched 'Plunkett and Macleane' and have watched it hundreds of time since...this brought about my interest in highwaymen in general...but Sovay, made me research into the female ones. I was totally inspired and came up with the above. I am extremley proud of the shading on this, and the hair.

This is a mixed media picture of Rapunzel. I wanted to draw something more true to the Grimm brothers than the child friendly version. This is after she has met the prince, and is possibly pregnant with her child. She is no longer the niave innocent child. I pictured her crying because of her healing tears.

Work catch up

I'm catching up on alot of work for college at the moment, to get back up to date.

This is all of my photography work I did last lesson. This was just about developing negatives in different light, and attempting to use solarisation.

These were the negatives from the modelling I did, for my partners photos :)
These are my copies of artist 'Modigliani'. I've still got alot of art to catch up on, as I'm a whole artist behind though...so lots of work haha.

Egypt

Well for two weeks a week ago, I was in Egypt. It was amazing, a trip of a lifetime. I took over 700 pictures on my SLR...oops...haha.
Here is no where near that many for you to look at.

I went snorkelling with hundreds of amazing fishes, I played with an octopus in the ocean, I fell in love with a dish called Vegetarian Shakshoka and a dessert called Om Ali, I almost fainted time and time again due to the 46degree weather, I saw the pyramids, I saw the sphinx, I watched the sunset from a boat on the nile, I went to the valley of the kings, I went to Cairo Museum, I went to Karnak temple, and Luxor Temple, and the temple of Hatchepsut. I did alot...everything I wanted to achieve in Egypt I did.

More Photograms

I played with some more photograms in the darkroom today, mainly of snake skin again. I adore the way they're coming out, and can't wait to start processing actual negative film over the next few weeks.

Just a quick one on my novel

Just a quick update to let you know that I've uploaded the epilogue to my in progress novel 'Captain Morgan' to my deviant art.

I'm very proud of the ending (it made me cry) of course it will be different for you as it will all be out of context and you don't yet know the characters.
So please check it out, and let me know what you think.
All critique and comments welcome

RazorLust Photography

RazorLust Photography is a little non-profit company I set up with some fellow photographers. Think of us as a way for models and photographers to find each other (not quite like model mayhem) if either are looking for work to expand their portfolios, we're who you should come to.
We are based in South Wales of the UK and have ability to travel short distances.
Anyway all the information you need is on our website,

If you're at all interested you can contact me through this blog or through our website contact page.

Thanks xx

Photograms

Today was my first time in a real darkroom. I had alot of fun creating photograms, using various materials. I found that I got the best results whilst using my snakes shed skin. I will be doing more next week, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Here are three of my favourties from today.

The above image I made using a teaspoon necklace, my VeVa necklace and a pink feather head piece. This piece is very stocky and just straight forward contrast, which is very Man Ray in style. Next week I plan on creating a similar effect using paintbrushes.

This is what's known as an enlarged photogram, and you create this by instead of placing the objects directly on the paper, you put them in a negative hold and this creates a hologram onto the paper.
I really love how much detail and shape came out in this image.

This is another enlarged photogram. A section of curling snake skin. There is so much detail and depth to this image, and I really like the choice of focus I made during the exposure.
Let me know what you think xx

Nine!

I just finished watching Nine, finally, and I must say it was some of the best cinematography! I loved it. Hats off to the director 'Rob Marshall'. His angles were superb his use of music, and lighting was brilliant. The camera movement combined with the movement of the actors, aww almost every frame was picturesque.
After watching this I am keen to do some dance style photoshoot. I really want the chance to play around with the movement and costume. I am now highly tempted to make the 'Folies Bergere' inspired pieces in the movie.

The feathered back especially caught my attention. I will definatley be doing a photoshoot based on this and Nine soon as I possibly can find a set and get materials.
In other news this Thursday I am making Photograms, using items personal to myself. I will upload pictures of my finished pieces around then.

To get the ball rolling...

Well to start things off, I'm going to fill you all in on my latest photoshoot, which was rather spontaneous. My friends 18th birthday required us to dress in Victorian finery and go for High Tea in some beautiful gardens and grottoes. The setting was so gorgeous and picturesque that I just had to take photos there.

The flowers were amazing, there were statues, lots of hidden caves, stepping stones, and some really huge ponds. Being the mischief maker that I am, these ponds were just too tempting for me.

( No this wasn't technically allowed)

Anyway I took some gorgeous photos of models Victoria Jones and Kate Downes. Instead of uploading loads to this page, I will supply links to the whole shoot, and upload one taster image here.

Thanks for reading x
